scarica callforpapers in formato .doc in formato .pdf CALL FOR PAPERS - SCADENZA 31 MAGGIO 2004 Il 23-25 Settembre 2004 si svolgerà a Genova il Convegno nazionale della Società italiana di Filosofia Analitica. Il tema generale del Convegno è il rapporto tra filosofia analitica e cultura europea, nel tentativo di cercare un bilancio del passato e una prospettiva per il futuro. Il tema è legato al fatto che il Convegno si svolge in un anno in cui la città ospitante - Genova - è capitale europea della cultura. L'influenza della filosofia analitica sulla cultura non è necessariamente un'influenza diretta, ma spesso indiretta, legata al tessuto di risultati e ricerche nei diversi ambiti filosofici. Oltre al tema generale quindi, sono previste diverse sessioni parallele, dove - a prescindere dal tema generale - si tasta il polso della situazione filosofica nei vari settori in cui si fa ricerca in filosofia analitica. Come suggerimenti principali abbiamo indicato i settori seguenti: Filosofia analitica e cultura europea Epistemologia Estetica Etica Filosofia del linguaggio Logica e filosofia della scienza Filosofia della mente Filosofia politica Ontologia e metafisica Ogni intervento avrà 40 minuti di tempo, di massima divisi in 30 minuti di esposizione e 10 minuti di discussione. Le lingue ufficiali del Convegno sono italiano e inglese. L'invio di relazioni in italiano è caldamente auspicato. Gli abstract devono non superare i 5000 caratteri, spazi inclusi indicare nome, cognome, istituzione di appartenenza ed e-mail indicare la sessione per la quale vengono presentati presentare le linee principali e il punto chiave dell'argomentazione proposta, essere riversati (con un semplice copia e incolla) alla pagina http://sifa.unige.it/genoa04/abs/form.html Per ogni comunicazione (o per chi avesse problemi nell'inserimento degli abstract) scrivere a sifa04@nous.unige.it Gli abstract saranno sottoposti a doppio referaggio anonimo, secondo le linee indicate all'indirizzo http://www.sifa.unige.it/genoa04/ref.html La partecipazione al Convegno prevede una iscrizione - DA VERSARE PRIMA DEL 20 LUGLIO: 40 euro per docenti e dottorandi 20 euro per studenti. DOPO IL 20 LUGLIO la quota sarà 60 euro per docenti e dottorandi 30 euro per studenti. La quota servirà per i servizi essenziali di informazione, la presentazione degli abstract nella pagina web (e possibilmente a stampa) la quota sociale SIFA, e altre attività per i convegnisti.

The National Congress of the Italian Society for Analytic Philosophy will take place on September 23-25, 2004. The main theme of the meeting is the relationship between analytic philosophy and European culture, in which we will also attempt to evaluate the past and prospects for the future. This theme is inspired by the fact that the meeting will be held in Genoa, the European Capital of Culture in 2004. Obviously, the cultural influence of analytic philosophy is ony indirect and interwoven with the fabric of research and its results in diverse fields of philosophy. Accordingly, in addition to this general theme, there will be a variety of parallel sessions (as at every national convention) in which we feel the pulse of the current situation in analytic philosophy's various fields of research. We offer the following suggestions as primary topics: Analytic philosophy and European culture Epistemology Aesthetics Ethics Philosophy of language Philosophy of Logic and Philosophy of Sciences Philosophy of mind Political philosophy Ontology and metaphysics Each speaker will be allowed 40 minutes, generally to be divided into a 30-minutes talk and a 10-minutes discussion. The official languages of the Convention will be Italian and English. It would be desirable that at least some papers be presented in Italian. Abstracts of proposed papers should: not exceed 5000 characters in length; indicate the speaker's full name, home institution, and e-mail address; indicate the topic of the session for which the paper is intended present the main outline and key thesis of the proposed argument; be submitted (with a simple cut-and-paste operation) to the website http://sifa.unige.it/genoa04/abs/form.html For further information (or in case of difficulty in sending the abstract), write to sifa04@nous.unige.it The abstracts will be double-refereed according to the guidelines indicated at http://www.sifa.unige.it/genoa04/ref.htm. Participation in the Conference costs 40 euros for teachers and graduate students 20 euros for undergraduate students. These are the costs BEFORE 20 JULY; AFTER 20 JULY the costs will be: 60 euros for teachers and graduate students 30 euros for undergraduate students. This fee will cover the charges of essential informational services, the posting of the abstracts on the web page (and possibly their publication in the conference program), the SIFA membership, and other amenities for the participants.
